Zoom Poker for Mobile Devices
There have been reports that the popular online poker site, PokerStars, may be adding Zoom Poker to the growing list of mobile poker games, possibly as early as a summer mobile poker release. Zoom Poker is a very popular online poker product that has gained much popularity with online poker players. The application is being developed for both the Android mobile systems and the iOS mobile platform. The applications are being developed so that they will operate in conjunction with the existing PokerStars mobile applications. The new application has been in development since 2010. Jeffrey Haas, the Mobile and Social Gaming Director of New Platforms from PokerStars, said: “We want to cater to players on whatever devices they may have, wherever they might be and whenever they want to play poker. Expect to be playing Zoom Poker on your mobile device this summer.” The new application will be somewhat intuitive, using the hands-on interface, and the native gestures used for the newer mobile devices. This means that players get to experience the Zoom Poker game in a hands on way that is impossible when using a keyboard and mouse to play the same game in an online poker room. Those who are using smart phones can play on up to four virtual tables at the same time, and those who are playing on tablet computers can enjoy games at up to five tables at a time. PokerStars takes responsible gaming seriously. “We’ve worked very closely with our responsible gaming team to make sure that all the functionality we’ve put in place in the PokerStars client is also available on the Mobile app. Functions include self-imposed deposit restrictions and the ability to cut yourself off from accessing the site for a certain amount of time,” said Haas.
